Candidate for
Board Member; Cypress School District

I have been a member of the Cypress community since 1971. My sons both attended Cypress schools. I think that the Cypress School District provides excellent educational opportunities for our students.

I am proud to have been a member of the Cypress School District Board of Trustees continuously since 1985. I believe that as a member of the business community, rather than the educational community, I bring a different perspective to Board discussions.

There are serious issues facing the district in the near future, we have aging schools which will require major renovation and upgrading in the next few years. We need to find a way to maintain a balanced budget while meeting the needs of an increasing special needs student population. And, we are faced with the prospect of declining enrollment. With my extensive experience on the governing board, I am uniquely qualified to provide a leadership role as we face these and other issues.
