For the last four years, I have worked to keep Laguna Niguel one of the safest and finest communities in California. I ask for your support to continue my work on behalf of the citizens of Laguna Niguel. My accomplishments as Council Member and as Mayor include: Working as a Regional Board Member representing Southern Orange County, I opposed efforts to build El Toro airport. Creating a Youth Task Force that added after school programs for kids including counseling and expanding our homework club. Defeating plans to build 200 overnight prisoner holding cells in Laguna Niguel. Updating our City's emergency preparedness plan; Working to expand our Library and Senior Citizens Center. I am endorsed by Sheriff Mike Carona, Supervisors Tom Wilson and Todd Spitzer, Congressman Chris Cox, anti-airport leader Bill Kogerman, all Laguna Niguel City Council Members and Assemblywoman Pat Bates. I am Chair of the Orange County Council of Governments, active California State Bar member, former Deputy District Attorney, California League of Cities Environmental Quality Policy Committee member, and Laguna Niguel Rotary Club member. I served as a manager for my daughter's girls softball team, and am currently a Board Member for our local National Junior Basketball League. My husband, Doug, and I and our two children have lived in Laguna Niguel since 1989. |
