Revitalization Why Revitalize? Revitalization is a process created to assist local government in eliminating and reversing deterioration of a particular area. What is a Revitalization Project Area? A Revitalization Project Area is a distinctly identified area of our city that evidences physical or economic deterioration that cannot be corrected by private forces acting alone. Revitalization Goal The goal of Revitalization is to create a safe, economically viable and balanced project area that provides: • Jobs • Safe places to live and shop • Strong commerce • Recreational opportunities • Decent and affordable housing • Increasing property values Revitalization has been the prime engine for the economic recovery of California in the 1990's. Old Town Placentia The city has identified the Old Town Placentia area for future revitalization. This project will enhance the quality of life for all citizens in Placentia by: • Maintaining the heritage and culture • Upgrading employment opportunities • Strengthening the economic base • Revitalization of the business district • Providing neighborhood empowerment • Rehabilitation of existing housing |
