I believe that people need to involve themselves politically though community efforts. Being a busy business person and parent makes it very hard to contribute; however, it is essential that we don't overlook this important means of serving our community. Additionally, it is important that a broad cross section of views are heard. Politics often get in the way of this through special interest groups and hidden agendas. The political process is much more facinating up close. I was very inexperienced about the whole process and wish I knew then, what I know know. It's important that the role you are entering doesn't get eclisped by the personal promotion aspects of politics. I think we should be humbled by the process that has made us a free nation.
