Suggestions to evaluate candidates.Look, I understand that candidates make a lot of promises and claims and it is hard to know whom to believe. I offer these two suggestions: Look for hard facts. Is someone saying they are going to be tough on crime (a mere slogan) or do they offer you their record? In the area of endorsements, is the candidate offering specific groups, associations, or individuals, or are they claiming the support of some general group. (Which could mean one person from such a group) Who would make the best judge for the citizens of Fresno County? You don't have to take my word for it. Do you know a cop, a firefighter, a lawyer, a parole agent, a probation officer, or better yet a judge? Ask them. If I had a slogan, it would be something to the effect: "Go ask a Cop" |
