Bobby was raised in Madera, California since the age of 3. He attended local Madera Schools and is a graduate of Madera High School. Following graduation from Madera High, Bobby attended Pepperdine University graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. After spending 4 years working in sales management in the Los Angeles area, Bobby decided to return to the Madera area. For many years Bobby owned and operated a highly successful real estate brokerage firm in Madera and volunteered his time to many local civic organizations. He also donated time to serve as an advisor to the Madera High School Business Department and was a regular guest speaker in many business classes at the high school. During the mid 80's Bobby agreed to teach Real Estate Principals for Fresno City College at Madera High School as part of an outreach program that eventually led to the creation of the current State Center Community College Madera Center. Shortly after selling his real estate company, Bobby accepted the position of Business Education Partnership Coordinator with the Greater Fresno Chamber of Commerce, funded through a grant from the State Center Consortium (SCC). As a staff member of SCC, Bobby handled all marketing, public relations, media relations, governmental relations and served as SCC's liaison to the business communities in Fresno, Madera and Mariposa Counties. He also was a keynote speaker at many local, state and national conferences with regard to the importance of business/education partnerships and how to create and sustain successful partnerships. Bobby is currently employed as the Executive Director of the Madera Economic Development Commission.
