Our community is not just a group of people living and working independently in buildings, parks, farms and schools. The people who interact, communicate and work with each other to better their lives together define our community. The foundational growth of our community is for people to take the time from our personal responsibilities and interests and contribute to the greater good of our community. By involving ourselves, we not only make a personal and social contribution; we set an example for our children. Some say our children need to learn the social value of service. Our schools must instill the value and rewards associated with community service so that they may grow up seeing themselves as key individuals of their community.
