Daniel B. Proud Sample Ballot Candidate Statement

By Daniel B. Proud

Candidate for Superior Court Judge; County of El Dorado; Office 5

This information is provided by the candidate
This year, the County will lose over 50 years of judicial experience when the demands on the court have never been higher. I am proud to be the only candidate endorsed by all three retiring judges, Judges Haas, Riley, and Smith. My experience is ideal for the changes facing our courts. I have practiced law in El Dorado County for 26 years, have extensive trial experience in criminal, civil and business litigation, and have, for several years, served as Judge Pro-Tem in the Superior Court. My experience with juvenile and dependency law will ensure our county receives funding for programs that provide hope for our children.

I have previously served as a Los Angeles County Deputy Sheriff. Recognizing my strong commitment to public safety and law and order, the Placerville Police Officers Association, Deputy Sheriffs' Association, and Corrections Officers Association of El Dorado County have endorsed my candidacy.

I have volunteered as Attorney for the El Dorado County Women's Center, as a Member of the Placerville Planning Commission, and as a Director of EDCA Life Skills.

As your elected representative, I pledge to safeguard our community, preserve the dignity of the court, and serve as a steward of the public trust.
