Position Papers
Curbing Education and Training Cost Inflation at Long Beach City College
My three-point plan for curbing inflation of education and training costs at Long Beach City College include a change in incentives for student progress, decentralizing college services, and working for equity in staff remuneration.
Management Instability at Long Beach City College
In the last three years, management instability has grown sufficiently to virtually stop planning on campus, and throw college budgeting practices into turmoil.
A New Education Coalition
Out of a community effort to educate the public on the recent Proposition 39 bond authorization Measure E arose a new Greater Long Beach Area Alliance for Education Excellence. This should serve as one instrument for focusing the larger community's desire for educational accountability and fiscal restraint.
