PERCY "STEVE" MALICOTT President/CEO of the Antelope Valley Chambers of Commerce Lancaster/Rosamond

BIOGRAPHY

Steve is a native of the Antelope Valley, born in Mojave and graduating from Antelope Valley High School. Upon graduation, Steve entered the United States Air Force. His career took him and his family to a variety of locations throughout the United States and twice to Europe spending eight years in Germany. His career began as a Diet Therapist, but he has held numerous leadership and management positions to include First Sergeant, Deputy Director of the Family Support Center, and finally Senior Enlisted Advisor for the Air Force Flight Test Center, Edwards Air Force Base. Steve retired from the Air Force after 26 years of faithful service.

Upon retirement, Steve assumed the position of Executive Office for the Antelope Valley Board of REALTORS. He was a key member in merging the Antelope Valley Board of REALTORS and the Palmdale Association of REATORS into the Greater Antelope Valley Association of REATORS. Shortly after the merger, Steve was hired to his current position as the President/CEO of the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce.

Steve completed every level of Professional Military Education for leadership and management, has earned his Associates degree in Personnel Administration from the Community College of the Air Force, Bachelors degree in Business Management from Liberty University and is currently working his Masters degree in Teaching from Chapman University.

Steve holds several leadership positions in our community to include; member of Board of Directors for United Way, Greater Los Angeles, Antelope Valley Region; member Lancaster Veterans Home Citizen Committee; member Civ-Mil Support Group; member Lancaster Sheriffs Boosters. He also served as Fourth Vice Chair on the Board of Directors for the Antelope Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross and as Treasurer for Public Relations Officials (PROz) for the Antelope Valley of which he is still an active member.

Steve is married to the former Patty Myers, also from Lancaster. They have one daughter, Sharron and three grandchildren, Joshua, Victoria and Gavin.
