Community involvement: assisting residents with property concerns before City Council and Planning Commission. Attendance at meetings and public commentary on City issues including: Ammonium Perchlorate contamination, Porta Bella development and cleanup, growth, roads, schools, the environment, Golden Valley Ranch, Valley/Calgrove gate, Black Friday, and TMC. Purpose for running for Santa Clarita City Council: To offer experienced representation and leadership. My background is in representing average people. We suffer from selective representation and a politicized City Council dominated by "professional politicians". I have no further political aspirations beyond City Council service. I refuse, on principal, to take campaign contributions. This allows me to maintain an excellent relationship with the citizens, city staff and the press, as I will not be indebted to high-powered campaign contributors. I can be instrumental in luring the film industry to Santa Clarita as well as returning stock car racing and local radio. To control growth, I will justify the implementation of a moratorium on housing and will rally the citizens to stand up for a preferred quality of life. This will give us the ability to require the County and State to provide adequate infrastructure before considering additional growth. Environmental concerns must be addressed before those of growth.
