Political Philosophy for Ed Robey
Candidate for |
Ed's Political Philosophy has always been to use government as an instrument for positive change in our quality of life. Important issues Ed wants to work on include: 1. Strong support for education at all levels in California, following the lead set by Virginia Strom-Martin during her term in the Assembly. 2. Making affordable health care available to all Californians, with special attention to the health care needs of seniors and children. 3. Strong and sensible environmental protection and resource management for a sustainable future, eliminating clear-cutting of our forests and protecting our coastline from offshore oil drilling. 4. A practical long-range energy policy that rewards conservation and "green" power, but also assures that California will never again be put in the position of being ripped-off by out-of-state energy producers. 5. Improving our transportation infrastructure, with increased funding for maintenance and improvements to our local streets and roads, as well as rail and highway improvements where appropriate. 6. Encouraging smart growth and economic development policies that protect the beauty and open space that make the North Coast so special, while at the same time creating jobs and a strong economy. 7. Policies and programs to keep our agriculture and farming industries healthy and strong. |
