Set legal parameters for 'guest-worker' program regarding the U.S. and any foreign worker.
Amnesty to be provided for immigrants who have lived in the United States for three years or more and who pay
taxes on wages earned. Insure a "guest worker" program function in the United States with workers from abroad
having legal representation from each country involved in host/immigrant worker agreement. As an interpreter in Mexico for the Richmond-Times Dispatch article, `Forgotten in the Fields,' I believe a program such as this is essential so that exploitation (by the former of the latter as in the 1956 `Bracero' program) no longer occurs. Since I manufactured furniture for Pier I Imports, Inc. and Williams-Sonoma in maquiladoras in Tijuana, B.C., Mexico, I am well-acquainted with these issues and will continue to seek appropriate treatment of each group committed to this plan.
