A flyer which is being walked to the doors of many voters througout this great district, outlining my campaign and qualifications.Kevin Greene for U.S. Congress: VOTE on March 5! As a Democratic candidate in the 9th Congressional District, I'm asking you the voters for the opportunity to serve this diverse district, to help solve these many nagging local issues: PUSH THROUGH THE DELAYED turnover of key Federal lands at Oak Knoll and at the Oakland Army Base for development, for housing, for new jobs; IMPROVE OUR SECURITY at the Port of Oakland and at our Airport, to protect this district and our nation from further attacks from terrorists; UPGRADE AND RESTORE aging health care and transportation facilities; SPEED UP environmental cleanups; and always, ENSURE that our scarce tax dollars are spent wisely and effectively to improve the quality of our lives. I stand firmly with the Democratic Party's position on our war against terrorism - supporting a full and effective response to the atrocities of September 11, 2001 with appropriate actions directed both at the vile perpetrators and also their protectors. I will provide the voters of this great district a real choice in their representation. About Kevin Greene: I am a U.C. Berkeley graduate with 20 years of practical experience as a Civil Engineer. I know how to get things done in the real world. I'm an activist grass-roots Democrat with a long record in Alameda County: Three terms as President of the Castro Valley Democratic Club; and, currently serving my fourth elected term on this county's Democratic Central Committee (in past terms, serving as Secretary and then Vice-Chair). I know how the political system works. I was a regular political columnist in the Castro Valley Forum, 1999/2000, debating the conservatives and annoying reactionaries (at-large member of NGA-CWA Local 39521). I know the district and the players. I have been active in many Democratic campaigns and in organizing Democrats year-round. I can get things done in the political world. My Pledge to this District: If elected, I will work on issues which directly concern this district, first and foremost. If elected, I will return to the district between sessions of Congress - no globetrotting junkets, ever! If elected, this district will be my priority - and this district will have my attention. EXERCISE YOUR RIGHTS ON MARCH 5: VOTE IN THE PRIMARY ELECTION! |
