Kevin Feldman is a seasoned and energetic financial services and technology executive with over 13 years of experience working in the private sector. He is an experienced business problem solver who understands the dynamics of the "new economy" and how to use technology as a vehicle to provide innovative, lower cost services to customers. Kevin wants to bring new thinking and ideas to longstanding public sector problems, where he believes technology and sound business management practices are the necessary ingredients to expanding and improving government services and lowering overall costs.

A young entrepreneur, Kevin started his first company, Computer Bookkeeping Service in 1982. The company provided automated accounting and check-writing services for small businesses in Malibu. The following year, he opened the Malibu Computer Learning Center to provide computer education to local elementary school students.

Kevin worked for Capitol Records before joining Charles Schwab & Co. in October 1993. Kevin joined Schwab as a Senior Manager in the technology division. During his eight years working at Schwab, Kevin advanced quickly in his career by focusing on new business opportunities for Schwab, including the development of innovative software products and Internet services for Schwab's institutional clients. Most recently, he developed the technology vision and strategy to support Schwab's plans to offer retail banking services to its clients. A licensed investment broker, Kevin was appointed a Vice President of the Charles Schwab Corporation in 1997.

In 1998, Schwab granted Kevin an educational sabbatical to complete a graduate program at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. Kevin's area of study focused on how government agencies could learn from the private sector, especially in their use of innovative technologies to solve problems and provide better, faster and more efficient services to citizens. Kevin received a Master of Public Administration degree in June 2000 and returned to Charles Schwab the following month. Kevin left Schwab in November 2001 to run for Congress in the newly reapportioned 30th district.

During the past ten years, Kevin has been active in the Democratic Party and has been an active supporter and fundraiser for many charitable and political organizations, including amFAR, Project 10, the Human Rights Campaign, CARE, the No on Knight initiative and the Lavender Youth Recreation and Information Center (LYRIC), one of the largest providers of peer-based services for gay and lesbian youth. Kevin currently serves on the board of LYRIC.

During Kevin's undergraduate years at UCLA, he was active in student government, representing students on two University committees. He also worked as a Community Service Officer, where he was trained and certified as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). During his sophomore year, Kevin enrolled in Air Force ROTC as a pilot candidate and later enlisted in the Air Force Reserve. He served until 1989 and received an honorable discharge. Kevin received a Bachelor of Arts degree Magna Cum Laude in Linguistics and Computer Science with a specialization in Business and Administration in 1993.

Kevin Feldman, a fourth generation Los Angeles native, was born in 1968 and grew up in Malibu and Los Angeles. He attended Malibu Park Junior High School and Santa Monica High School.

Kevin lives in West Hollywood with his partner of eleven years, Tom Nash.
