State Assemblyman Manny Diaz has distinguished himself in Sacramento since his election in November 2000. Manny has taken a leadership role in working to make our neighborhoods safer and improving the quality of life for Silicon Valley families. Assemblyman Manny Diaz graduated with an Engineering degree from California State University, San Francisco. After graduation, he worked as an engineering professional in the private sector for approximately 17years. He also co-founded the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers in San Jose. Prior to his election to the San Jose City Council, Assemblyman Diaz was a housing development manager for the non-profit Mexican-American Community Services Agency (MACSA) building affordable housing. Prior to his election to the Assembly, Manny served on the San Jose City Council since 1994. Manny Diaz lives in San Jose with his wife Sandra Avila-Diaz. He has three children, Lito, Raquel and Marcos. |
