Improve EducationBy Peter D. De BaetsCandidate for State Senator; District 28; Libertarian Party | |

Apply traditional American principles to California's education system.California's public education system is failing. To reform it, we need to apply to it the same principles and concepts that made this country great: Freedom, liberty, independence, and the free-market competition that results. Teachers should be free to teach, parents should be at liberty to choose a school for their children, and an independent path for their education. Schools should compete for enrollment and for the best teachers. For this solution, no additional taxpayer funding would be required. We would simply need to repeal laws and regulations that impede freedom and competition in education. |
