Why elect me Controller?

I have extensive private industry and government experience and have provided leadership as County Controller.

  • I helped balance the (now) $1 billion county budget for 15 years.
  • I led the $129 million repayment of the county retirement fund debt .. without raising taxes ..
  • And I helped save $200 million on the BART to SFO contract.
  • As your Controller I produced $1.8 million in ongoing, annual taxpayer savings through process improvements, staff reduction and new revenue sources - without compromising service.
  • The Controller's Office recently issued the County's first ever award-winning Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR)to provide full public access to our financial "books". You can see the report on the County's Web site at http://www.co.sanmateo.ca.us under "About the County"

I believe by continuing as your Controller, I can save millions of dollars more, which could be used for law enforcement and education and services for seniors.

A well-managed Controller's office is important to conserve and protect our taxpayer dollars while providing user-friendly financial servies to our community.
