Bernice believes that the operation of the Office of the Treasurer-Tax Collector requires a leader of the highest integrity and one who considers the social impact of the work it does.

• I believe the position of Treasurer-Tax Collector-Public Administrator is one which demands the highest integrity and accountability. The incumbent is given the heavy burden of properly investing the public's money, administering tax programs with honesty, impartiality and integrity, assuring that those in need of guardianship services are treated with fairness and compassion, and providing quality services to the County's veterans.

• I am also sensitive to the impact public financial policy can have in our society. At the same time, funds must be protected for the benefit of those whose future will depend upon them. And always, they must be carefully managed to assure their safety. To accomplish these goals I am committed to a "hands on" operation which will make use of my experience and skills to continue the outstanding success enjoyed by the office during the tenure of Mr. Feramisco.
