  • Occupation: District Attorney of Orange County
  • Elected Orange County District Attorney by the voters in June, 1998
  • Since taking office, crime is down; gang crime is a 5 year low and child support collections are up over 60%
  • 1999 District Attorney of the Year; We-Tip National Award
  • 28 years experience as an Orange County Superior Court Judge and Deputy District Attorney
  • Founder of the Recall Rose Bird Alliance and co-authored Proposition 115
  • 12 year veteran homicide Orange County prosecutor during which time I personally tried over 40 homicide cases including 7 capital cases

  • Continue my successful programs to keep crime down and to fight violent gang crime and eliminate gangs
  • Continue to protect our environment by prosecuting polluters who dump sewage into our soil and pollutants into our oceans and streams
  • Continue to build on my reorganization of family support where we have been able to increase child support collections over 60%

  • Occupation: Deputy District Attorney
  • Veteran prosecuting attorney with 25 years trial and management experience.
  • Member of Justice Department's Organized Crime and Racketeering Strike Force
  • Elected President of Orange County D.A. Association
  • Faculty Member at UC Irvine and National College of District Attorneys
  • Led the fight against political corruption and voter fraud.
  • Selected Attorney of the Year, Constitutional Rights Foundation
Priorities:
  • Restore Integrity to the Orange County District Attorney's Office
  • Initiate and Strengthen programs to combat gangs, elder abuse, child abuse, domestic violence
  • Ensure equal justice under the law to all residents--no double standards of justice.
