I believe the future of Monterey County is linked entirely to the planning and growth decisions being made today. As your Supervisor my priorities will be to not only find solutions to our water and transportation problems but to ensure they are implemented. We cannot afford to let our quality of life disappear while we continually "study the issues". The time has come for decisions and action!

Taxpayers have a right to expect adequate basic services such as roads, police & fire protection. They also have a right to demand all county government decisions be made in full public view with adequate citizen input and scrutiny. All Board sub-committees should have published minutes, to which the community has access.

We must do more to help our growing senior citizen population with their special health, transportation and housing needs. While I think County Supervisors work hard I believe they are overpaid. When elected, I will challenge my fellow Supervisors to freeze their salaries. Good leadership starts at the top!
