Vision Statement

My vision is to have judges who are committed to their community and who will preside over a system that is cordial to those appearing in court no matter what their capacity and a court that is timely and efficient. This means that everyone who appears in Court whether they are serving on a jury, paying a traffic ticket, appearing in a small claims action, defending a criminal charge or prosecuting or defending a civil complaint will be accorded respect and the efficient processing of their case.

A court needs to fairly conduct its proper business with the least amount of inconvenience to those it serves.

The public is entitled to be treated with respect by all court personnel including judges.

A judge must be honest and, above all, independent. A judge must "call them like he or she sees them" and not be beholden to any special interest group. A judge who "owes" a special interest group that appears before it regularly is a judge who is compromised at the outset. I would never allow myself to be compromised and I pledge to publicly recuse myself from any case in which there is even the appearance of a conflict of interest.
