Striving to bring a living wage into all homes of working people. Recognizing all ethic groups and genders. In the late 70's, I spent a total of three years living in a right to work state. Wages didn't reflect the cost of living in the area. Even though it was easy to get a job, wages were far below what it takes to properly raise a family. Families saw their means to participate in the community diminish. Those very communities suffered as a result. Those three years left a indelible mark, how important it is for a worker to recieve a fair wage. Some people will tell you, "If you want to appreciate what Americans have, visit a third world country" To me right to work states are third world countries. Low income people have very little protections regarding benefits. And while your "there" ask them if they have a retirement plan establish? The answer will be "No". Our rights as citizens are continually being tested. I stand for equal rights for all races and genders. Our very success this great nation has been blessed with, is a result of our valuable immigrants that made this their home. It is time for women to have their rightful places in businesses and our various elected local, state and federal offices. I will strive to uphold these very beliefs. Always remembering who I represent. |
