Whether we are discussing either of the two topics above, the schools cannot make the correct decisions without consulting the parents and others in the community. Attempts to solve such important decisions will fail unless the parents and the community at large actively support the measures taken. I believe that the school district administration, with the board, should conduct "town meetings" to solicit input from the community, and then establish "action committees" composed of school officials, parents and other interested citizens to develop the options that surface.
