I have been a resident of the Casitas Springs/Oak View area for over 28 years. I will be celebrating my 30th wedding anniversary on October 9th, have one child, and two adorable grandchildren. My grandson, Jadon (pictured with me), is a kindergartner at Sunset School in Oak View. Twenty years of experience in the Ventura Unified School District has allowed me to be involved as: Past president of the PTA at DeAnza Middle School (two years); past president Ventura High School PTSA; past officer and member of Oak View PTA; school site council representative at Oak View School and Ventura High School; past officer in Ventura Council PTA; past officer 12th District PTA; served on budget committees, school improvement committees and other district wide committees; founding member and co-chair of the VUSD grad nite committee, a drug, alcohol and tobacco free celebration for all graduating seniors in the Ventura Unified School District; taught parent education programs through Quest 1989-1991 at DeAnza Middle School; past parent advisor for Friday Night Live; and the list goes on. My involvement is also within the community as member of the Oak View Women's Club; member and past president of the Sunrise Optimist Club; served on the Mayor's Youth Task Force with former Mayor Tom Bufford; member of the City's Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee; volunteered as a reading tutor at Montalvo Elementary School; and still volulnteer today for any cause that benefits children. I have 26 years experience as a legal secretary/paralegal, specialize in on-site computer training; and my husband and I have owned a manufacturing/machine shop for 30 years. |
