Crime and Gang Reduction
I want to go full force on the war against drugs and revisit our curfew laws. It seems to me that we have too many young people running around late at night, up to no good. When you call the police and ask them to run them off or settle them down, isn't there a curfew law in town, they claim there is, but they can't enforce it. One of the things that I would like to do, in the City Council, is to get with the City Chief Of Police, and ask him what is it that he needs from us, to get these young people at home by 11:00 at night. Second, is there any way to keep track of the gangs from Stockton and Los Angeles area in our town, so that we can keep a better eye on them. Everybody knows that the drugs come from L.A. and are cut here in Modesto and distributed throughout Stanislaus and San Joaquin County. I would encourage the Chief of Police to increase the Anti-Drug and Gang Task Force, by almost half. Let's really make a difference with Drugs and Gangs in Modesto and be a role model for other Cities in California. We need a Boot Camp in this area, so we can clean up, some of our under age 2nd and 3rd Drug offenders. Like the Military "NO TOLERANCE".
