SCIENCE AND OUR FUTURE
WHAT WILL TOMORROW BE LIKE? CREATIVITY IS MY 1st BUZZ WORD, AND SCIENCE IS MY 2nd. THE QUESTIONS POSED THE READER ARE SIMPLE , YET MOST SIGNIFICANT IN CONSEQUENCE. IN 1961 PRESIDENT JOHN F. KENNEDY CHALLENGED US TO GO TO THE MOON BY THE END OF THE 1960'S.. AND WE DID!! IT SEEMS TO ME, THAT SINCE HIS CHALLENGE WE HAVE LOST TRACK OF JUST WHAT A SPECIAL KINDA-CAN-DO- PEOPLE WE ARE... WERE IT NOT FOR JOHN KENNEDY'S CHALLENGE, WOULD WE HAVE GONE TO THE MOON? REGARDLESS OF THE COLD WAR? OUR TOMORROW MUST BE MORE THAN DEALING WITH DAY TO DAY PAY THE BILLS, WATER THE LAWN, CASH THE CHECK POLITICS... IT MUST BE FORWARD THINKING, INNOVATIVE, CREATIVE, BROADMINDED WITH A WILLINGNESS TO ENDEAVOR NEW FRONTIERS! SCIENCE THROUGH, AND COMBINED WITH INDUSTRIAL ENTERPRISE IS OUR PORTAL TO A TANTALIZING TOMORROW. THIS IS A BROADBASED CONCEPT THAT WILL BE AS FAR REACHING, AS THE SPACE SHUTTLE IS WHEN COMPARED TO THE WHEEL BARROW. SCIENCE AND INDUSTRY IS EXACTLY WHAT MAKES THE MODERN WORLD, MODERN. SCIENCE AND INDUSTRY IS THE VEHICLE BY WHICH DREAMS BECOME REALITY, THERE IS NO SHORT-CUT. THE CREATIVITY AND INNOVATION USED AND MASTERED BY SCIENTISTS, ENGINEERS, AND TECHNICIANS ARE THE MASTER CONTROL PROGRAM OF OUR TOMORROW. POLITICAL AND BUSINESS LEADERS ARE THEN THE HARDWARE OF OUR MODERN WORLD, THE CENTRAL PROCESSING UNITS SO TO SPEAK... POLITICAL LEADERS MUST LEARN HOW TO PAY THE BILLS AND WATER THE LAWN WITH POLITICS THAT MAKE ROOM FOR INVESTMENT. POLITICAL LEADERS MUST LEARN THAT IN OUR FREE SOCIETY, PROFIT IS A NECESSARY CONSEQUENCE, OF THE BUSINESS THAT FUELS THE INDUSTRIAL ENGINES THAT MOVE US INTO A NEW TOMORROW. CREATIVITY IN BUSINESS, AS WELL AS IN EFFECTIVE POLITICS IS OUR GUIDING PRINCIPAL INTO A NEW AND BRIGHTER TOMORROW... |
