Shall the City Council provide sewer service to the two (2) areas of the Modesto Urban Area General Plan which are described in the Sample Ballot as set forth in Measure O?

Meaning of Voting Yes/No
A YES vote of this measure means:
you want to advise the City Council that you are In favor of providing sewer service to the Southwest Modesto Infill Area and the Westside Infill Area.

A NO vote of this measure means:
you want to advise the City Council that you are not in favor of providing sewer service to the Southwest Modesto Infill Area and the Westside Infill Area.

Impartial Analysis from the City Attorney
The City has placed Measure 0 on the ballot for this regular municipal election to seek the advice of the electorate with respect to whether the City Council should provide sewer service to two (2) areas of the Modesto Urban Area General Plan known as the Southwest Modesto Infill Area and the Westside Infill Area. Both of these Infill Areas are "islands" in that they are completely surrounded by the boundaries of the City of Modesto and, further, both are less than 75 acres. The outcome of the election on this measure will be canvassed and presented to the City Council. This election result will provide information to the City Council concerning the inclination of the voters of the City regarding the provision of sewer service to these two (2) island Infill Areas. However, the outcome of the election with respect to this measure, shall not bind the Council to act in a particular way with respect to either the provision or the non-provislon of sewer service to those areas.

You should vote 'YES" on this measure if you want to advise the City Council that you are In favor of providing sewer service to the Southwest Modesto Infill Area and the Westside Infill Area.

You should vote 'NO" on this measure if you want to advise the City Council that you are not in favor of providing sewer service to the Southwest Modesto Infill Area and the Westside Infill Area.

Full Text of Measure O
Southwest Modesto Infill Area

The unincorporated area generally located south of California Avenue, west of Martin Luther King Drive, north of Briggs Avenue, and east of Marshal Avenue.

Westside Infill Area

The unincorporated area generally located north of the proposed State Route 132 right-of-way, west of State Route 99, north of Laurel Avenue, and east of Emerald Avenue.
