I was born in San Mateo and raised in the Bay Area. My children have been educated in this District over the last 12 years and I still have a child in middle school here. I have been actively involved in the technology program at Laurel School for 12 years, implementing and maintaining their network and lab, and providing in-service training for teachers. I have been chairperson of Site Council, and a participant in District activities. For the last 25 years, I have been the president and CEO of a local, privately held software company. This has given me considerable experience in management, working with people, and creative problem solving. I am the principal architect and author of numerous mainframe and Windows software products, including the MVT/VSE Operating System, SPRI Spooling System, Procedure Language Facility (PLF), and the SureSync File Synchronization System. I have over 35 years experience in programming, system design, and management. I am very logical and have a knack for simplifying very complex systems. I want to contribute my skills and ideas to the issues of education in our community. I get great satisfaction from helping others and sharing my experiences. I take this role seriously, researching problems thoroughly and listening to the advice of others. I have a very high ethical standard and believe in the fair treatment of all people. You need a Board that exhibits competence, cooperation, creativity, and the ability to solve problems. You want leaders who listen, analyze, and make reliable judgments. I have the qualities necessary to make sound, objective decisions. |
