Keep Foster City a great place to live for young and old.
As someone born in the beginning of the "Baby Boom" generation, I recognize that we will all soon need many services that Foster City currently provides for our seniors.
I also recognize we have much more work to do in this area.
Seniors make up a large and growing part of Foster City and for that matter our entire country. Services such as housing, transportation, the senior nutrition program and a sense of community are all important aspects of life as we age. We are going to need more specialized housing, like the award winning homes in City Park, which specifically meet the needs of seniors for both living space and a sense of community.
Programs like "Senior Shuttle" which give seniors the mobility they need within our community are key to a satisfying and fulfilling lifestyle in Foster City.
New programs could include health and nutrition lectures,
financial safety net programs, and an on site gerontologist to help our seniors with issues in these areas. All of these services will need to grow and expand and new ones need to be created to help keep Foster City a great place to live for young and old alike.
