A City Must Provide for Its Ever Changing CitizenryBy George MetropulosCandidate for Councilmember; City of Belmont | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
As the demographics of Belmont change, we must provide services to meet our growing populationsOver recent years, Belmont's demographics have changed dramatically. In 2001, we have almost 15% more families than we did 10 years ago. We must strive to provide additional services for families, and for our youth and senior populations as well. As an elementary school teacher, I talk with young people and their families on a regular basis. I have parents here in Belmont who are seniors. I hear their concerns and needs. I will continue to listen and ask, and work toward targeting and implementing quality programs for the people of Belmont. |
