Candidate for
Member of City Council; City of Santa Barbara

This information is provided by the candidate

As an 8th generation native of Santa Barbara, and as one of Santa Barbara's more than 35,000 Latinos, I bring to this election a perspective that is rarely seen in local politics.
My roots in this community extend back to the founding days of the Presidio and throughout the South Coast region. From the Presidio to the old lemon-packing warehouses to my grandfather laying the cement foundation at Franklin School, my family has seen this city and its changes over the years. I only hope to continue this long line of Santa Barbara residents and to give back to the community that has given so much to me.
I have gone through many local schools during my ongoing educational experience. Beginning with Notre Dame and continuing through El Rancho, Roosevelt, Santa Barbara Junior-High and Santa Barbara High School and City College, I have learned from, and learned with, many of this community's best and brightest.
Having lived here all of my life, I know the issues many residents of Santa Barbara are facing. I have seen the changes and I do not like what I have seen. Knowing that people used to feel comfortable in their communtity and that this feeling has all but left Santa Barbara, it is now time that someone who truly knows this City is elected to the City Council.
