Leadership positions as a teaching professional included 12 years as Department Chair of Visual and Performing Arts, twice Faculty president of 200 teachers, Teachers' Association representative and on-site negotiator. I was twice chosen Teacher of the Year.

I was elected to the Monrovia-Arcadia-Duarte Town Council as secretary, reporting to County Supervisor Mike Antonovich, receiving state and local awards of commendation for service.

My daughter attends Murrieta Valley High School, As membership chair for 2 years in the MVHS PTSA, my unit received a state award for outstanding improvement in membership.

As MVHS PTSA president, our unit gave 10 $250 scholarships last year to deserving seniors, up from 2 scholarships the previous year.
