To move into the future requires forging new foundations, stategic planning and solid support and all fronts. Not status quo.
I'm a Christian husband, married 23 years, and father of three daughters who attend Everett Alvarez High School. I've managed healthcare organizations for over 20 years and am currently employed with Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital as Director of Harden Medical Care Center. I am also a Healthcare Administrator (Captain) with 23 years of services in the U.S. Air Force Reserves with a Masters in Health Services Administration and B.S. in Business Administration. With in-depth administrative knowledge, years of business experience and proven strategic thinking and program management skills, I can serve the board and our community professionally. My wife is a teacher, which has given me a unique view of bothsides of the issues at hand.

Every child should have a solid education and each should be given the opportunity to excell.

In more recent years, I've noted a stronger commitment to improving the educational foundation of our schools and students. There has been good news about school growth, test scores, guality teacher, etc.. However, there was some bad news, violent and unsafe environements, unhappy teachers, low test grades. There is always room for improvement. Participating with the Governing Board, in support of strong strategic educational goals and a focus on the future of our schools and the students who will be entering the work force in the near future, will be a privilege. To steer change and give something back to our children and community will be exciting.

Meeting the challenges of the future, promoting and giving all students the opportunity to learn in ample facilities, a safe and technological advanced environment, with a full complement of professional teachers, sound fiscal programs to support the projected growth, is imperative. Given the opportunity, I will be an advocate for our students and our school systems. Supporting and fostering programs such as Peace Builders, and Regional Occupational Programs, and fostering work ethics through these type programs as well as support the community's future educated work force, will be my primary goal.
