What Does a School Board Trustee DoBy Gary KarnesCandidate for Board Member; Alisal Union School District; Trustee Area 2 | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
The primary responsibilities of the Board are to set direction for the whole District, provide policies, ensure accountability of staff, and provide community leadership.Individual Trustees and the Board as a whole must involve parents whenever possible at all levels of decision making. All studies indicate that parent involvement and support for their child's education and school pays off in greater achievement for their child and the school. This involvement establishes a culture that says public education is important, very important. The District's vision and goals for the next five years were recently developed through a long process that produced a Strategic Plan for the all District staff to follow. Copies are available at each school site. For more information on the Alisal School District you may access the District's website: Thank you. Gary Karnes 442-1649 or e-mail me through smartvoter. |
