Michael G. Brown "Mike" has been a resident of the Antelope Valley since March of 1976. Mike attended Antelope Valley Community College (AVCC) after separating from the Air Force in 1979. Over the previous twelve years Mike has been very active in the education community. He was elected to three consecutive terms as a School Board Member in the Wilsona School District. He actively participates in the Antelope Valley School Boards Association having held positions as Treasure and Legislative Chair. He recently finished serving two consecutive terms as President of the Association. If elected to the Antelope Valley Community College Board Mike's main emphasis will be to create more educational opportunities for valley residents. Ensuring a second campus in Palmdale is completed and locating satellite sites in surrounding communities that make it easier for people to continue their education will be top priorities. AVCC has an outstanding curriculum that must be made available to everyone. Mike is currently the Chief of the Acquisition Support Team at Edwards AFB, California. A network of Acquisition Support Teams has been established across the Air Force to share lessons learned, promote use of best business practices, and assess the effectiveness of acquisition reform initiatives. Mike previously held positions as the Deputy of the Rocket Propulsion Division for the Air Force Research Laboratory and prior to that as Director of Operations for OL-AC Phillips Laboratory. He has 26 years of federal service. Education: B.S. Management Golden Gate University A.A.
