Political Philosophy for Paul T. Converse, P.E.
Candidate for |
"I have been involved in water and wastewater locally since 1984, serving as a senior engineer at both EID and the County Water Agency . Work experience includes service as General Manager of a sewer district and an irrigation district. My political experience is limited to three terms on a church Board. I hold post baccalaureate degrees in business and engineering. I support the recruitment and nurturing of quality staff, providing them with modern facilities and equipment, and empowering and expecting them to operate the District in an efficient and professional manner. We need strategic planning to enhance EID's water supplies, storage, distribution, reliability, and water quality, anticipating and providing for the needs of future generations. And we need a long range financial plan. I will fight to secure greater local control of our local water supplies. Integrated operation of project 184 water and power with Sly Park is essential. Relicensing of the SMUD Upper American River Project is also a critical opportunity for local control over local resources. I believe in fairness, will listen, and will weigh the opinions of constituents together with my professional knowledge. I welcome your vote." |
