Neighborhood Protection: Tough on crime

  • Increase police protection in our community
  • Reduce the crime rate to the lowest of surrounding cities
  • Save the City Fire Department from a County takeover
  • Prevent Sybil Brand Women's prison from becoming a men's prison
  • Stop East Los Angeles College from placing a high school on its campus next to a residential area

Seniors: A strong voice for seniors

  • Expansion of Langley Senior Citizen Center
  • Improvement of Dial-A-Ride Program
  • Construction of senior housing at TELACU Monterey Park Plaza, Abajo Del Sol, and future development on Potrero Grande

Fiscal Responsibility: Judy strengthened the city budget

  • Increased City revenue with sales tax from Atlantic Square, the Good Guys, Tower Records, Starbucks, etc.
  • Voted for construction of the Monterey Park Mall: Target, Home Depot, Staples, In-N-Out Burger, etc. will generate nearly $1 million in tax revenue yearly
  • Created Business Improvement District Advisory Committee to improve downtown Monterey Park

Quality Services for Residents: Judy actively supports quality services for our community

  • Expansion of our city library
  • Improvement of Fire Department with new state-of-the-art equipment
  • Renovation of Barnes Park and La Loma Park
  • Initiation of the City Childcare Program and Youth Commission
  • Establishment of First-time Homebuyer Program
