Do you take money from developers?

By Karmen Brower

Candidate for Council Member; City of Calabasas

This information is provided by the candidate
Only if they are my neighbors, and unlikely to appear before me, if elected.
This is a question that has to do with INTEGRITY. If you think I have none, then don't vote for me.

Having suffered discriminatory treatment due to my choice of employment and sex, I am always reluctant to make blanket statements. I will not DENY my neighbors, who are good and upright citizens of our City, their right to participate in the political process. I will NOT DISCRIMINATE against my neighbors solely because of their occupation.

Isn't it the same thing, really, to trumpet one's endorsements from developers who are not residents of Calabasas and who have or are presently appearing before you? I see no significant difference except that endorsements are supposedly worth more than money.

I would have no integrity to my way of thinking if I discriminated against my neighbors. I understand the thinking of others, but I was taught that two wrongs don't make a right. Again, it is really a matter of the integrity and judgement of the individual.

If you have doubts about my judgement or integrity, DON'T VOTE FOR ME.
