Innovative Programs at Community Colleges Provide Life-Skills Programs, Hands-On Teaching"College Get Grants for Teacher Intern Program", LA Times, June 14, 2000 Moorpark College students interested in a teaching career will benefit from a student internship program, placing them as tutors for K-5 classrooms beginning this fall. The program is a win-win-win situation for students, Moorpark College and local area students. This internship allows a hands-on approach for interested future teachers. The experience for our students should bring about renewed commitments to their studies and invaluable resources to the local elementary schools and our children. Congratulations to Dr. James Walker, Moorpark College president and our future teachers - together we can really make a difference in our students and in our community.
