Elect Sandra Benitez Mayor of Riverbank

By Sandra Benitez

Candidate for Mayor; City of Riverbank

I believe the City of Riverbank is fiscally sound
The city budget is a blue print for each coming year. We decide how and where to spend the city's revenue. Sometime it may appear we are spending over our revenues, but we do not. We review at mid-year and make adjustments. We have always ended each fiscal year with a reserve balance and all our yearly debts paid. I do not believe we have mis-spent or wasted Riverbank dollars. We do not deficit spend. In, fact we have always been very frugal!

In the past, before 1992 the city did not have the large reserves that some would lead you to believe. There was such inefficiency in training, outdated software, and preforming daily tasks, the city council really did not know the true reserve balance. I believe, since I've been your Mayor, we have cleared-up these past problems. We have a very professional staff that is well trained and knows how to complete daily tasks, including balancing the checkbook each month.
