Top Priorities if Elected |
- Child Care/After School Programs: I propose tax deduction for families with day care expenses. We must also make afterschool programs more available
- Education: States should be required to publicly account for how they are spending their federal money.
- Health Care: Let more people above poverty level buy federally supported state coverage. I support a Patient's Bill of Rights.

- Child Care/ After School Programs
-
Infants and toddlers who get high-quality child care are more apt to graduate from high school, attend college and delay having children.High-quality, early childhood education can be an important ingredient in supporting young families.
Between the hours of 3 and 6 PM is when most juvenile crimes occur. We need programs to keep our kids off the streets. Our children need to be challenged after school. After school programs are vital to working parents.
- Education.
-
The focus should be kept on what works: Better teachers, higher standards, greater accountability.
- Health Care.
-
Adressing the issue of healthcare should begin where the need is most acute, with working Californians who are uninsured or underinsured because they are self-employed or who work for small companies.
