My vision for Santa Rosa Schools
Schools are clean, safe places where children go to learn. - Learning is gudied by clear expectations, called standards. - Every child has a quality and qualified teacher in every subject, every day. - Teachers and students have the curriculum, textbooks and materials needed to support teaching and learning. - Parents are involved in helping their children learn. - Performance counts. - There is testing to ensure that students are making progress. - Children who are falling behind are provided more support and more time. - Every child, every teacher and every school is expected to improve every year. - Accountability is based on progress, not perfection. - However, core content standards must be met to be promoted or graduate. - Parents are involved in planning and decision making and are kept informed about results. - And there is clear evidence that resources are being used wisely and effectively to create the best possible learning environment for all children in the district.
