Political Philosophy for Ruth Palmer

I am seeking re-election to continue this school district's achievements. We have established high academic standards in literacy, math, science and social studies. To reach them, we must continue to invest our resources where they count the most: teachers, classrooms, textbooks, libraries, technology. Giving all students opportunities to succeed remains our goal. We have completed the voter approved high school Art and Science wing and modernized all schools, including the libraries. Upon California Coastal Commission approval, we will begin construction of the new Middle School. I am proud to be a school board member in a district that has assumed a progressively greater leadership role in advocating for children, youth and families. As a result, we have safe schools, the highest daily student attendance, and the lowest dropout rate in San Mateo County. By supporting the health and well being of its children through school-linked services, a school/community collaboration funded through local and state grants, CUSD has significantly improved student academic performance. Safe campuses, steady improvement in standardized test scores, more advanced placement classes, a broader diversity of students going on to college-all indicators that CUSD is on track. Your support will ensure that CUSD stays on track. |
