Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Ted Lempert

Candidate for
Member, Board of Trustees; San Mateo County Board of Education; Trustee Area #6

This information is provided by the candidate

When I entered kindergarten at Baywood School in San Mateo in 1966, California schools were a model for the nation. As your Assemblyman and San Mateo County Supervisor, I have fought to return our public schools to excellence.

Improving education is my top priority and my passion. My legislative achievements include: 1) expanding charter schools; 2) making it easier for other professionals to teach; 3) championing more school funding; 4) creating a state college savings program; 5)supporting special education; 6) removing barriers to vocational education (ROP); 7) requiring school accountability reports on the Internet; and 8) founding the County Youth Commission.

On the Board of Education, my fight for excellence will include services for our kids most in need. I will also push the County Office of Education to make the administration of all our local schools more efficient.
