Political Philosophy for Fel Anthony Amistad
Candidate for |

|
I am a long term, dedicated citizen of San Mateo County who desires to see government work for the people, not against them or their philosophies. I am an experienced businessman with many years in finance and accounting. I have an MBA in finance and I believe I can insure that the tax dollars for education are spent wisely. I will make sure that students and parents--important citizens and taxpayers--get their money's worth from special education and other programs that need funding. I have years of voluntary work experience from educational and nonprofit organizations. Fiscal decisions based on my experience and training will insure that our tax dollars go a long way. I believe that as a competent board member, I can promote fresh ideas to improve the goals and ideals of this board. My civic duty is to be accountable and responsible to the citizens of San Mateo. I would like to see more government spending in the educational arena. I would like to see less taxation and more prudent review of government spending in the educational arena. I believe that as a member of the board I will advocate the needs of the taxpayers to protect and serve the educational system. Moreover, since this Board oversees special education programs, I will work diligently and passionately to enhance the programs that benefit all students. I want to insure proper funding of required programs that are essential and critical to students' education. As a parent of a 6 year old child in the San Mateo public school system, I understand the needs of parents and students. I want to be involved and a part of the educational fabric of this community. I will respect all viewpoints and contribute greatly to the educational goals of San Mateo. |
