Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Ann Ketcherside

Candidate for
Councilmember; City of Atascadero

This information is provided by the candidate

I check and research issues and that's what I would do if elected November 7. Every issue in the City is important, but first and most important are the residents of Atascadero and what they want. After all, I would be working and serving them.

As a 29 years resident, I've been involved in politics from School Boards to City, State, and Federal Government. I worked campaigns, was active on the Central Committee and C.E.E., served as vice-president of Concerned Parents, am part of Republican Women and a researcher.

As a member of the Atascadero City Council, I would:

Oversee the Youth Center this year on a good site and have it for all the children.

Continue to check on nuisance laws and involve the public.

Give property owners back their rights, as they purchased the property.

Open the downtown area for more business this year.

Stop double license fees put on storeowners.

Work to bring the "Dove Creek" mall and keep the cemetary nice. This will bring people off the freeway and increase business for the whole town.

Twenty years late, get Dove Crek off the ground. The owner will preserve the Cemetary part with respect. We need to stop the people at the south end of town and then they will come downtown.

I also want to work with Planning to make sure there are equal rights to all people. Make sure there are equal rights when submitting plans in the Planning Department. When out in the public, this is one of the biggest complaints I hear about.

Work with the School District for better schools and their locations.

Study Revenues such as lottery money, building permit monies, gas taxes, grants etc. and use it for what it is intended.

Advise the public of what's taking place before it's passed, not after the fact.

Be a "Voice" for the people, not a "Yes" man (woman)
