Who am I? Raised in Stockton, I attended SUSD schools: Hoover, Hazelton, Webster, and Stagg. After graduating first in my class at Stagg, I received my bachelor's degree in Political Science and East Asian Studies at Yale and my law degree at U.C. Hastings in San Francisco. My family came to the United States from Hong Kong when I was five. I am the son of a Baptist minister and a Realtor. My sister taught social studies at Webster for three years and is now teaching at Foshay Learning Center in South Central LA, one of the nation's top 100 high schools. What have I done? I previously worked for State Senator Patrick Johnston and am now an attorney at the law firm of Kroloff, Belcher, Smart, Perry and Christopherson, developing a practice in business litigation and estate planning. I am a supportive board member of the American Lung Association, having chaired the organization's most successful crab feed ever. I have been a volunteer tutor to students through the Math in the Mall program. I am an active member of my local church and am completing a four-year term as a trustee of the California Southern Baptist Convention. |
