Government Service:

I am a trial attorney for the State of California, Public Utilities Commission, in the Office of Ratepayer Advocate (ORA). I represent the consumers of California in litigation against the major electrical and telephone companies operating in this state. I have been lead ORA trial counsel in litigation relating to:

(1) overbilling of collect calls in the California Correctional System; (2) illegal cost shifting by electrical utilities of electrical charges to residential customers; and (3) internet access, relating to reciprocal compensation and line sharing disputes between telecommunications companies.

Private Practice:

Prior to my government service, I was a litigation associate with the New York law firm of LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene & MacRae. I devoted a great deal of my practice to representing poor persons in eviction actions and non-profit organizations such as Self Help Community Services (Selfhelp)and Neighborhood Youth & Family Services (NYFS).

International Teaching:

The year before law school, I was an Assistant English Teacher (AET) in Japan under a program sponsored by the Japanese Ministry of Education (the Jet Program).
