- Education is ultimately the responsibility of parents. Public schools have the privilege of partnering with parents to help them fulfill that responsibility. At its best, education is a collaborative effort between parents, teachers and administrators for the benefit of our children. To make this a reality, the Grossmont Board must be held accountable to parents, students, taxpayers and staff.
- The geography of instructional delivery is changing and we need to prepare the district for the competitive future of education. To do that, we need an education system designed for and responsive to its consumers - the students and their parents.
- Each decision Grossmont makes must be based on whether or not it helps us meet our educational goals. Money needs to be directed to the classroom first. Programs and issues outside the classroom only deserve our attention when they address problems that interfere with instruction. If we take corrective action, it must be focused and measured. That is, it must focus directly on the problem at hand and the response must be measured to the severity of the problem.
